Corrections policy
We correct our errors openly and promptly. When a story is wrong, the fix is part of the record — noted on the story itself and logged here, where anyone can audit it.
How we correct
Substantive errors — wrong facts, figures, names, dates, or attributions — get a dated correction note at the top of the story describing what changed and when. We do not silently rewrite history.
Minor fixes — typos, grammar, broken links, layout — are fixed without a note.
Every substantive correction is also entered in the log below, with a link to the story.
How to report an error
Use the contact page channels — the fastest is replying to any newsletter edition, which a human reads. Tell us the story URL, the passage you believe is wrong, and a source we can check. We verify before we publish a correction, and we correct regardless of embarrassment.
