The Newsroom
Accessibility statement
Everyone should be able to read the news. This is what we commit to, what we know is still rough, and how to tell us when we fall short.
Our commitments
Semantic HTML landmarks and headings on every page. Full keyboard operability — if you can’t reach it by keyboard, that’s a bug. Alt text on meaningful images; decorative collage imagery is marked decorative. Readable text contrast, resizable text, visible focus states, and reduced-motion preferences respected.
Known limitations
Some pages use canvas-based maps and globes — we’re working on text equivalents for the data they show. The live tracker strip under the nav is decorative; the same data lives on the Trackers page.
Report a barrier
Hit something inaccessible? Contact the newsroom and tell us the page and what went wrong — accessibility reports go to the top of the fix queue.
